I've tried a vasopressine-like agent that will drastically reduce the
urine production for a few hours. The substance is desmopressin acetate,
in sweden it goes by the name of Minirin (mfg: Ferring). The stuff comes
in several preparations, I've tried the nasal spray. The "real" use is
for testing the renal function, bed wetting and diabetes insipidus. I
have no idea as to how regular use will affect you.
In no way do I recommend anybody to try this, I'm just saying
that I've tried it a few times with no ill effects.
It's expensive, 5 ml is USD 50 and will be enough for, say, 10 dives (my
guess). It's also a prescription drug. Anybody else out there tried this?
