There are minor differences in color temperature between all the HIDs, but it doesn't mean they are not true HID. If you put a 10watt MR11 HID against a BRL you will have no problem telling which one is halogen and which is HID - the MR11 is BLUE. BTW, the HID light scene is changing so quickly that we have already done an update to my divelight book, expanding the HID info into a full chapter. We also posted the new chapter on the Airspeed website in pdf format.
