It is easy to implement, so that's why there is no reason to release the source code? There are many deco-programs available for free, with user interfaces of various kinds. It takes some effort to implement this user interface. That's why I don't want to reinvent the wheel. But I'd like to be able to check the algorithm, and thereby make sure there are no flaws. If many people do this, there could be some quality assurance. And it would compell developers to not write crapy code, since everyone could comment on it. If nobody else will release their work (Zplan, Mplan, etc.), I might implement a deco-library with a user interface on top - all with a BSD-style license. If you don't see the benefit, then try releasing the source and see what happens. I doubt you'll end up with a bunch of maniac hackers implementing Mplan-clones with built-in flaws for increasing the number of chamber treatments and casualties.
