Subject: PalmPlanner Update
From: Jim Cobb <cobber@ci*.co*>
To: Tech Diver <techdiver@aquanaut.com>, VB Tech <vbtech@ci*.co*>
Phi's latest update, "Julisha.exe" is up on the site.

Phi sez:

In this version, I have added:
- Correct GF bug: the computed GF low is actually what you entered, real
dumb mistake on my part -- try to write too fast. Anyway it is fixed!
- Option to skip the non-mandatory stops after a "maximum O2 window" stop.
- Additional deco diluent for Closed-circuit rebreather mode: this option
allows the diver to dive the CCR on one diluent at the beginning, and switch
to a second diluent on ascend for deco.
For example, start the dive on trimix 10/50, do the bottom portion then
ascend to, say, 21m and flush the CL and switch to air diluent for a Nitrox
(no Helium) deco.
This is the procedure I used to do at the beginning since Buhlmann algorithm
will show a reduction in total deco time, but there are many who believe
that Helium is friendlier than Nitrogen and will continue to stay on trimix
for the entire shallow deco stops. And this is what I *personally* for the
last 6 months using the same profile (air diluent switch) with no ill
effect. But, again, caveat emptor (sp) !
I have also worked on:
- the GUI and got something quite nice, but will require a lot of additional
work to make a complete change-over from text-based.
- OTU. I found the formula and will be implementing it soon. Before anyone
asks me what it is, look in the o2.cfg file in the Zplan directory.
- Haven't found a formula for CNS % yet, but found the tables (same place).
It is a lot of work to implement that in, so unless I find the formula...
Again, same drill on the installation... Please read the procedure on the
previous e-mails below if you forget!
