Matt,

I treated myself last year to a Sony pc100 dv camera and the gates housing.
The Sony camera does truly excellent video and great stills. I hear they
will bring out a 3m pixel one soon and I'd consider waiting so you can get
both great stills and video from the same camera.

The gates housings are very robust and made from milled aly, I've had mine
to 76m, but they are rated for 90. They are easy to handle underwater and
you have access to all the camera features for still and video. The housing
also allows you to see the lcd screen which means its easier to set up shots
and keep aware of what's happening around you.
