Unzipped drysuit? Correct these guys, please. There was no incident. I go diving at the public sites once in a blue moon and only in this case to work on drills with my friend and dive partner , Pina, and the idiots go nuts. JJ and Casey had to shoot a couple of TV fill in shots and they got the same kind of bullshit badmouthing also. Anyone who is not a mutant trailer rat with stroke gear gets lied about when they show up at a public dive site in "cave country". Usually we dive the WKP, but it was blacked out. These "cave divers" around Peacock built steps to the water to make it "easier" to teach diving there ( to get the fat slob instructors into the water ), and the problem is they are a few feet out of the water now. I took one look at that and just rolled off into the water rather than trying to deal with it. The difference between me and the fat slobs is that I can swim in drysuit with 104's with no fins, put them on in the water, and my regs are located in DIR in such a fashion that I could get to them handcuffed. I did not even waste any gas doing this, so I guess that freaked the slobs out. I live in the water. These guys want so badly to find something to say about me, and all they can ever come up with is bullshit. If I were not so right, they would not be so threatened all the time. And after they finish with all of their bullshit about me ( most of them include badmouthing me as part of any cave course), they have to then answer such questions as , "who the hell put the line in Wakulla out 19,000 feet?", and they have to say, "the guy who we said fell in the water and drowned". Thanks for the heads up, Robert, I'll take this up with that fat slob in person next time I see him. He never seems to have anything to say to me in person, but then nobody ever does. Gee, I wonder why? The fact is that while things happen in all activities like this, and we have all done things like starting a dive with no fins, my personal favorite of no mask, forgetting to zip a suit or my specialty , forgetting to hook up my dick to my pee valve, DIR gear configurations and DIR procedures do not cause accidents, they are designed to eliminate or reduce the KNOWN causes of accidents that the dive community tries to pretend do not exist. VIOLATIONS of these principles and practices can almost invariably be shown to either cause or contribute significantly to accidents. The big issue here is that "instructors" like Rennaker have taught bullshit for years and are the ones "covering up" by refusing to recognize the problems and make the appropriate changes. This is why we now have GUE, and in WKPP with me running it, that has never been an issue, and obviously has much to do with our enviable safety record given the extreme nature of what we do and the massive frequency with which we do it, the huge number of people we let do it, and the size of each dive operation that at times can in volve as many as 100 dives in one day. EVERY successful dive project out there now uses DIR methods and WKPP procedures, and the list of people trying to get into GUE as participants is in the hundreds now, and the waiting list just to help at WKPP is off the charts. Renaker , the CDS, the NACD and the whole Hee Haw Gang in Central Florida have zilch to offer this sport, can not come up with one single constructive thing to say about anything, they can not come up with one successful argument against anything I am saying, and have been saying for ten years, and all they can do is lie and spread bullshit, like the trailer trash that they all so clearly are. If they were not wrong and scared, they would not be doing this. It is amazing to me that they do not even have the balls to put the lies out themselves, but send them to people who are not involved at all and let them do the public lying for them. This should tell all something, and that something is clearly "AVOID the goobers at all costs". -----Original Message----- From: Robert L. In the thread I was referred to as some anonymous DIR Lord and Master who fucked up. I was initially a little bit pissed about how exaggerated the account was (Unzipped drysuit as opposed to leak at the zipper), but it made me stop and think for a moment... About what was actually being attacked. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
