It may be still to early to dive the big Fitz. This wreck evokes to many living memories. Most of the wrecks we dive the victim's families and the then governments are long also dead. Just look at the Empress of Ireland in our Canadian Waters the 2nd largest loss of life next to the Titanic. Divers tore her all to hell before the Government finally stepped in but than only to protect the economy of the local charter businesses. Where were the families of the 1200 souls who bit the big one on that disaster. I will look into permits but give it 50 yrs and our kids will have carte blanche to rip and pillage this wreck and no one will give a shit. Oh but then it will be a heritage site........ With that in mind the Empress may be a great wreck to practice on for the big Fitz dive since it to is a cold water dive. No where near the Fitz's depth but you will find 170 FT of 0 degree water. If you could not handle 2 + Hrs on that wreck i sure as hell would not attempt to dive the Fitz. It will be an ice dive past 200. 2 Hrs in 0 degrees sounds simple but when you add depth to cold and equipment its going to be an extreme exposure. Max out Jim Cobb wrote: > I agree with Black.
