The difference arises from the reg's susceptibility to impact.  The 300
bar manifold has a deeper thread depth, and thus makes it more
difficult to unseat the o-ring when your reg takes a beating from the
ceiling of an overhead.  Entanglement is also a bit of an issue, if you
try to screw a 300 bar reg into a 200 or 232 bar manifold, some threads
are left exposed, which can catch monofilament if you are not careful.

I have read previous posts on manifold preferences. I would like to
know preferences for 300 vs 200 Bar manifolds. All would use DIN for
backgas but since the seal is really from the O-ring does it really
make a reliability difference?
