Hi Les, Thanks for your mail. You are obviously not aware that you arrived at the shop at the end of the confrontation and I would therefore ask you to explain your allegation of lies. I would also take the opportunity to correct various statement you made in your mail. For your information there is no political struggle within the club and the club is not run from Mikes at East Grinstead. The staff there relinquished all responsiblities to the club some time ago and expressed a wish to have no further part in the running of the club. You are correct in saying that I am converting to DIR but you are most certainly being misled if you believe I am preaching to other members. I f I am asked for an opinion then I would give it, but I am certainly not trying to dictate to anybody which is the exact reason why I objected to being treated that way by Mr.Taylor. As far as DIR is concerned I think the method speaks for itself, you either accept a reasoned, logical and practical approach or you don't. It certainly doesn't need any assistance from me to convert other divers to such a discipline. What has probably upset the shop is that I purchased my DIR equipment from a source other than them because they do not stock Halcyon products. They maintain they do not make sufficient profits from selling Halcyon. If other divers see the kit and are impressed enough to want to buy they will obviously have to go elsewhere too, which means the shop suffers again. This is their decision as a commercial enterprise and has nothing to do with me. I have tried to support the shop and in the last three to four years have spent several thousand pounds with the Mikes store at East Grinstead.
