Hello. I do not dive mixed gases yet, but I look into it and try to get some information first. Just recently I had a conversation with a TDI instructor and he told me they would use Nitrox as travel gas then switch to air for travel and use Trimix on the bottom. I just could not see the logic in that procedure. One of the ideas in mixed gas diving is obviously to get rid of nitrogen. So why would anybody risk the high nitrogen hit when switching from nitrox to air at depth. Why not switching to a apropriate He-mix ? Maybe I missed a point ? Or is it just cheaper ? As I said I have no experience in mixed gases, so please do not flame me if I asked a stupid question. Thanks, Jens. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
