The lack of aluminum boats on the East coast and lower west coast may just be 
their rep for being hot boats. 

Put an aluminum boat out in 95F for a few hours and grab it with a bare hand 
and you will be uncomfortable or even get a good burn. Glass boat may get as 
hot but the heat transfer is so much slower that they do not "burn" you.
