I agree that this is more serious.  However, the kind of attitude on 
this list does not prevent deaths.  In fact, a lot of people simply 
refust to listen to any DIR talk because they've been exposed to the 
attitude.  I argue a lot, but I also think that 99% of the DIR stuff 
is right on, and am quick to defend it.  Invariably the comment is 
that I'm a DIR zealot (which I'm not by any stretch of the 
imagination).  Most people don't want to be told "I know what's 
right, you are wrong, shut up and listen" and when faced with that 
attitude they simply will refuse to listen to anything else that 
comes from that source, or anyone they associate with it.  Even if 
you're really nice about it.  You can be as right as you want, if 
your delivery is awful, people won't listen.  Actually I'm sure that 
in real life none of the people who post here are as caustic as they 
are on this list.  The internet seems to bring this out for some 
reason.  I just hate to see people refuse sound advice because they 
don't want to change their religion to DIR.
