One major problem with the OMS Manifold, it uses o-rings on the face of the
ends of the cross-over/isolator bar. If this description isn't clear,
picture the end of a DIN regulator. There is an o-ring in the end of the
DIN fitting that must seal against the inside of the valve or manifold on
the tank. If the reg is not screwed firmly into the valve then the o-ring
doesn't seal and the gas leaks out. Same with the OMS manifold. The
crossover between the two tanks uses the same system to fit into the valves
on top of each tank.

If the tanks and valve are not perfectly aligned then the crossover will
not seal. If the tanks are bumped (easy to do when moving 90 lb doubles
around) then the seal can be broken and the gas leaks out. If the tanks,
bands, and manifold are not exactly the right sizes then the crossover will
not seal. This may not seem like a problem, but I have measured different
Pressed Steel 104 cu ft tanks (from the same production year) and found 1"
difference in the circumference.

The Sea Elite uses two o-rings around the outside of the barrel of the
crossover that fits into the valves on each end of the tanks. This allows
more flexibility to fit on tanks of varying size and also has two o-rings
to seal instead of one. A lot less likely to leak.
