It was with interest that I read those bitter words of the unnamed person (who I now know to be Mr Friel) written on 10 August 2000 where I was roundly and colourfully abused accompanied by loud chest thumping on the part of the Boat Monkey involved. Some quotes may help the list recall some of his rantings: "I challenge you and all of your asshole friends that have bad things to say to come to NY or New England and Dive with us...I will personally pay for you to come to either New Jersey, New York, or even New England and put up or shut up. ... The problem with all you assholes out there is that you talk a big game but when it comes down to it you are a bunch of pussy's. ... I will personally pay to watch you puke your guts out and make assholes out of yourselves. The funny thing is that we will laugh that none of you fagots will take this on, and I am willing to pay. ... You let me know when you want to dive with us and I will ship your pussy ass up here so we can laugh at you! DO YOU HAVE THE BALLS?!. IF YOU WANT ME TO COME THERE I WILL ASSHOLE, AND I WILL EVEN PAY MY OWN WAY!... Let me know buddy, or if you want me to come there and kick the piss out of you (diving, or otherwise) let me know and I am game!. ... One last time pussy (Steve)I will pay for your whole trip, come to the North-East; this is a public announcement to the list, prove you are what you are worth by mouthing off!" It is with regret that I report to the list that following my public acceptance of Mr Friel's kind invitation in my post of 10 August 2000 I have not received details of my proposed trip to the NE from Mr Friel let alone the tickets. In fact I have heard not a word, mis-spelled or otherwise from him. Al Marvelli sent me am email wherein he advised me that Chris Friel is really a nice guy but I haven't heard from Mr Friel at all. I just thought that I would let you the list members know of the lack of response on the part of Mr Friel so that you could be in a position to place an appropriate value on Mr Friel's public offers - but maybe some of you have already done that anyway!.
