Idiots over here call this "progressive penetration". The theory is that you
do a bunch of dives on a wreck going in a little deeper each time. The Moron
party line is that you learn the wreck to the point that you can find your
way out in a silt-out. Of course this is complete bullshit, and is taught by
all the old-timey divers as some sort of bonified way to explore a wreck.

These two were no doubt in "Michael J. Black" mode, taught by some moron who
no doubt gave them other nuggets like bungee wings, pony bottles, thousands
of Drings, and all the other usual BS taught by most of the idiot technical
diving instrokters in the USA, UK, Canada and other backward places.

Black, exactly how many divers need to die before you start to wonder if
something is wrong?

As far as Rob Wolov is concerned, no amount of training can make up for one
stupid mistake. The questions raised by his death is why did no one stop
him? He dropped his prescription mask over the side on a dive vacation over
in Ireland. I can see his train of thought, the panic of a dream dive
vacation shot to shit as he watches his mask sink down into the depths. The
frantic donning of a near empty single tank, the borrowing of a mask (even
though he could not see shit without corrective lenses) and a completely
unplanned dive straight over the side in and straight down. His heart was
racing, his breathing heavy as he clawed downwards to where he guessed his
mask was. His breathing became very hard as he tried to suck the air bodily
out of the tank. He started seeing stars and then a curtain of darkness as
he slipped into unconsciousness. They found his body 6 feet away from his
lost mask.

The lesson here, my friends, is that there is nothing down there worth dying
for. Nothing.

People like Michael J. Black like to gloat over deaths like this because of
some connection to his hated enemy. Me, I think it is pitiful of this
so-called doctor to sit on a corpse and crow.
