Guys, I hardly think Janet needs you pontificating from your heavenly throne of techdomness, to save her from herself. There is a reason she is the Captain of one of the premier dive boats on the East Coast, and it is not the usual reason...because she owns it...she doesn't, it is because she is the best. There is a reason she is a charter member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame. There is a reason she does not use scooters like you guys do, she can swim circles around them for hours. I am glad you were so concerned about her, that you discussed and passed medical judgement on her in absentia on your recent dive trip. Will you be sending her a bill? When you guys cummulatively gather the experience she has in regards to the sea, the operation of boats, and diving, and then can physically keep up with her on land and in the water, then maybe you can express an objective informed opinion about Janet. Some of the posts from the members of this list were mean spirited, and insulting. As a member of this list, and a gentlewoman, Janet deserves to to be treated with the respect she has earned and treats others with. Some of you are real waste of good carbon. And please give me a break, no one is going to be showing up with a knockoff Tony Maffatone Rig on a dive boat. Pick on TDI or someone killing students, this great perceived threat Tony poses to the tec business is laughable. Tony loves what he does, and does it for himself, so what, what is the problem? The general public looks at Tony, they probably think he looks cool, big deal. The general public could give a crap about tec diving, so don't worry about your public image, you don't have one. Tec diving to the public is "Death on the Doria" , "Nobel Laureate Dies", glamour sells, face the facts, gotta have good copy you know. Mabel in Minnesota doesn't care about a cave or Billy Mitchells Fleet, it is not news. Later, Kevin -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
