I do believe my name was also used in that post, I have written several email answers to that moron Mr Black, but I never sent them to him or posted them. I will not be drawn into a debate by a fool. As for Rich, I had read his account of getting bent so bad that it almost took his life. He told his story of how he got away with a stuck pressure gauge and then turned around and did it again on his second dive which nearly cost him his life and almost never to walk again, if I remember the story right. I think he has been bent since then, but the truth is he did not have to tell it at all. Most all accidents and deaths can be traced to the diver. Those that live will rarely steep up and expose their own mistakes(No matter who you are). The dead leave us guessing what went wrong, sometimes it is easy to figure out what happen, sometimes it is not. What I got from Rich was a couple of things, if he had died, he would not have been able to tell us of the stuck pressure gauge (only at depth) and we may have assumed he just ran out of air, so he open some of our eyes to the fact that the pressure gauge will sometimes stick at depth, giving you a false reading. I have now seen this happen. In private email Rich gave me courage to post on this list my own mistake I made on the Doria, which could have taken my life, John Moyer was also helpful with this as it took a great deal of personal strength on my part to post something as dumb as what I did.(Thank you Rich and John) It was my hope that it would keep someone else from making that same mistake. This list is a very abusive list, many will not post anything on this list, even though the number of VBtech members are growing and they are on this list, only 3 of us post ( Jim, Dave ,and me). Some others have stuck their nose out here, only to have it quickly smacked. Since it was I who got "skin bent" and started the whole thing, what did I/we learn from this list about that: 1) It was pointed out that I may have spent too much time at depth for my planned deco :0 2) It may have been related to being cold ;0 3) It may have been caused by staying to long at my deep stops ;( 4) It may have just been my time :( 5) Getting "skin bent" has happened to those that do extreme diving Anyone of these, combination of any or all may have been the cause, But the number one thing I learned off this list at that time is Mr Black is truly a moron! :) At 10:28 AM 7/11/00 -0400, Trey wrote: >Rich, a weenie dive is a weenie dive - don't expect me >to remember all the details every time you get bent - >I don't consider any of your dives to require more >than a safety stop and a vivid imagination. > >Actually, the reference to your dives was not >dependent on the details, but only the fact that you >reported it.
