This is great! This was a terrific exploratory mission on ships and subs which are very rarely dove on. I, and I am sure everybody involved with this trip, are proud and excited at what we accomplished. Dr. Dick has spread the word that exploration to the outer limits of tech diving is not without cost. Certainly the various aches, pains, and a little DCS are worth the mission. I think I would rather get a type 1 hit on a dive like this than on some botched rec dive from 60'. You know that last year there were over 1.2 million (!) surgical procedures done to correct various sport injuries. Think about this for a little bit. This would include a golfer who trips over a grass knob and rips a tendon to rugby players who, when not getting hit by lighting, are constantly being carried off the field on a board direct to surgery. Now as far as Black is concerned, he is a pussy with a big yellow stripe down the middle of his back. His rec dives make him wake up at night in a cold sweat. He would never, ever to any dive remotely like this, and just reading about it gives him apoplexy, as you can see from his post. You know folks, I have gone back and forth with various people on this list but I have never taken any of it personally. But with Black should I ever come across him face to face my first impulse will be to knock his teeth out the backside of his head. But I would probably catch AIDS from all the blood and stuff that would be flying about.
