>I hear that Jim Cobb has one he will donate. That is if he can find it... Though Jim payed the price for finding out the real depth range of the Dacor scooter, several of you on this list must now eat some of your own words about Jim Cobb. 1) Jim now has been to 270ft, that is deeper than most of those that gave him a hard time have been themselves. I know several will jump out and say "I've been that deep" "Big Deal". Well, you only know you have self control when you have a problem at that kind of depth and handle it, many have died not passing that test. 2) Jim was dealing with a great amount of task loading with that runaway scooter at depth and in IMO handled it very well. I can also add that it was less than 6 ft of vis in that mess and we were never more than 2 ft from a net when it started up on its own. 3) Jim as did almost everyone on that trip, followed that dive with another dive to 235ft after a 4 hr SI All though I do not like the way Jim post sometime, it is now a fact, Jim is doing the real dives and can speak with experience. >Don > >-----Original Message----- >From: TGunther@co*.co* [mailto:TGunther@co*.co*] >Sent: Tuesday, June 20, 2000 1:24 PM >To: techdiver@aquanaut.com >Subject: Re: Making sure this dead horse is thoroughly beaten (wasRe: > > ><< Canister lights are great, but again if we are discussing the open water >diver we are most likely not discussing a canister lite, >> > >On the contrary, this is in fact what I and my good friend Nick Foster are >doing >here in the Northwest.
