     Nope they definitely were not discussing stove enamelling - which I am 
     familiar with. It was the chemistry of the paint. Stove enamelling 
     ought to produce a very good finish - my attempt was acceptable but 
     not up to that standard. The shops involved couldn't have mistaken 
     what I'd done for stove enamelling and they referred to the paint as 
     the problem not the process.Specific mention was made to a 'notice' 
     which had recently been distributed.
