You can also find instructions for making the 'P' weight on http://www.cisatlantic.com/trimix/vweight/pweight.htm I went to the thrift store and snagged a stainless steel pan and used my propane forge (but a propane cooker will work too) to melt the lead and pour it into my stainless steel backplate. Just get it so it is about the consistancy of water and pour slowly, and wear appropriate protective gear. Be carefull on the handle since sometimes they are soldered on, and the heat will melt the handle off, or weaken it. It would be bad to suddenly drop 8lbs of liquid lead all over the place.
