Well, not all of us can go diving every day, and yes, when I can't go 
diving, I do enjoy surfing the internet for dive related information. 
It sure beats working ;-)

I spent a lot of time looking at the V3 web page and reading reviews. 
I even printed out the manual.  It sure looks like a very nice piece, 
and it answers all the reasons I have seen so far for not using a 
computer.  Of course you would need two for redundancy.  I know the 
"plan the dive, dive the plan" method, but when you're exploring 
something for fun, you sometimes want to have the freedom of altering 
your plan based on what you encounter.   If a computer can help you 
do it, why is that so bad?

No flames please, I'm just a newbie trying to figure things out 
*before* I spend all the money.
