I was scheduled to take the Tech 1 class in May, but had to postpone.  I am 
now signed up for the next Seattle class July 21st.  Unfortunately there 
are not many DIR divers in northern California, so I have little 
opportunity to practice and use the skills here.  Sometimes my memory of 
what was told to me is hazy, and the details escape me.  GI's response as 
to being able to hear noise via a leaking valve was familiar, but I had 
forgotten all about it.

Ehhm, why don't you take a class yourself. That way you will not be
dependent on hearsay and learn 'it' hands on.
