Dive computers really are targeted at NDL style diving. The "answers" they give get further and further from "the truth" the further you take them into deco. So the only time I use my computer is when I expect that I'll only be doing mild decos. I also always bring a bottom timer/depth gauge as a backup. For this style diving, my Aladin uses a 10FSW stop as its first stop and generally it will just keep adding time to the 10FSW stop for quite a while. Only once did I push it until it gave me a 20FSW stop and that stop cleared itself while I was doing my 30FSW stop. If I'm planning anything more serious than "mild deco", I leave the Aladin at home (or plan on bending the snot out of it) and just use tables and a depth gauge/bottom timer. -Dave Ian Puleston wrote: > > > I actually try not to monitor *too* closely.
