Hi all, I've been following the Apeks threads with interest. Posted a question last week but by the time I got the "Message approval" response the thread had moved on and most of my questions answered. One thing that wasn't covered (because this really only matters to a rec diver (single tank) like me), how would an Apeks US-4 handle supplying two second stages at depth (with high air consumption). In a DIR tech setup there is only one second stage per post (often working at greater depths obviously). I'm sure a couple of divers in a stressful situation could suck a lot of air in 20-30 metres (maybe more than a single experienced diver a lot deeper, even working hard). Any experience? I've looked at going over to a diaphragm style reg for a while. My current piston first stage (MK10) is quite high maintenance (three services per year) with the sort of diving I do. The Apeks appeals because of the simpler design (other firsts I've looked at look quite fiddly (not at all easy to service and lot to go wrong)). H/Y valves are undesirable. I like to keep things as simple as possible. At 20:07 1/06/2000 -0500, s_lindblom@co*.co* (Steve Lindblom) wrote: >separate effort adjustments, which allow detuning. So the old R190's are unbalanced. Wondered what everyone was complaining about ("free flows, what free flows?") :-) Simon Simon L Hartley RSM Unit Web Administrator\First Year Course Coordinator Associate Lecturer School of Resource Science and Management Southern Cross University P.O.
