20 oz plastic Pepsi bottles work great from 60 feet for this. It's all in the 
lead time you give the jet skiers before you let go. Put a written message in 
each bottle, "a dive flag is not a fish line."  Not that they will ever find 
the bottle in what is left of the jetsky. 

Also about the dive invite, sounds great, where are you from?
