Guys,
I'd like to clear up some information about Apeks.

Apeks, Aqualung (US Divers),Air Liquide, Deep Sea, Seaquest and Technisub
are all now under the same ownership. I believe that Air Liquide is the
parent company.

When Zeagle's current inventories run out they will no longer be
distributing Apeks in the USA, and they expect their supply to run out in
June. When this happens Zeagle will begin distributing their own regulator
they had on display at DEMA.

Seaquest is now the exclusive US distributor for Apeks, so if you don't like
dealing with them you better stock up now before Zeagle's supply is gone.

Another option would be to take a second look at Beuchat's regs. Both their
diaphragm first stages are now environmentally sealed plus the new cold
water "Iceberg" second stage can be special ordered with the non-swivel
first stage, just tell your local dealer to talk to Robert at Beuchat.

David.

What you would have seen was probably an Apeks TX50 second stage. Zeagle
"badge" these and sell them under their own name. As Simon mentions these
regulators breath well but so do most these days. What is important and
differentiates regulators is that they are reliable and require minimal or
no
service. The second stage needs to be able to be dismantled underwater to
clear any obstructions, etc. All ports should be of standard size (no over
bore LP port crap). The US4 has 4 standard LP ports and one HP port, no
swivels or turrets. I now have seven and have used them for 3-4 years and
am
very pleased with equipment. The TX40 is similar to the TX50 second stage
but lacks the breathing resistance adjuster. I use TX40s for this reason.

I understand for earlier emails the George uses the Apeks US4 first stages.
In the UK, these are rarely stocked by dive shops but available to order as
they are a standard product from Apeks. Delivery in the UK normally takes a
week.
