To any marine archeologists out there: can you help me with a reference? I recall a dig I heard about that involved an ancient marine harpor built by a king as his commercial port. This discovery was unique in that there appeared to be some advanced architectural and engineering techology to the harbor and breakwater. It has been suggested that the ancients had constructed a protective port that was self dredging by design. This design prevented the harbor from accumulating silt and eventually becoming unnavigatable to ships. Does anyone recogize this reference, and have any further info. If so, please let me know....Thanks...
