We do the same usless he has been teaching all week, and then he stays longer at the upper intermediate and oxygen stops. On the other hand I have a max deco that I will do, and I also like to experiment. On that last 18,000 foot dive, I did only 7 hours 40 minutes for a six hour and ten minute bottom time at 285. I was assuming that if I got wacked, I would just get back in - that was not necessary. JJ did the known deco fot that profile ( we already had a 6 hour dive to that same tunnel). On our last dive togehter, a 130 minute bottom time at 285, we both got out at the same time. Oddly enough , what works to my advantge and more and more to Jarrod's, is that I am older and have been working out for so many years that I have a massive aerobic base and vascularity associated with it, as anyone who has ever seen me up close can tell you. This allows me to offgas very effectively. I did a 260 rectangular for 23 at the bottom minutse and only ten mintutes deco in an emergency situation, and then redid the dive 20 minutes later for ten with a 3 minute safety stop - that gives you some idea of what I can get away with. JJ and I have been doing provocative decos for ten years without incident.
