Yuasa has expanded its line of independence with 2 new models that are ideal for dive lighting and propulsion applications. The new NP-8.5-12 (12 volt 8.5 amp hour) delivers a 21% increase in performance over the 7 amp hour version previously sold by Yuasa, Powersonic, Panasonic, and many other manufacturers. Also new is the NP20-12 (12 volt 20 amp hour) which offers a 16% increase over the 18 amp models of similar design. The new batteries have the same foot print as previous models and will fit in the same cannisters, housings, etc. I don't have any other specifications (weight, price, etc.) of these new batteries nor of how they have increased the performance. When I get them in stock, I'll compare the 8.5 @ 20 to the 7 @ 18 amp hour batteries to see if Yuasa's claims are true.
