Maybe like a stage (though stages don't work all that great with a Jacket
either...)?

I've seen divers with jackets carry cannisters in the river. Some sling it
across the front the way TDI teaches you to carry a single deco bottle, some
carry it sort of outside the jacket and under the arm, and some carry it on a
separate 2" web belt. Let us not forget butt mounting. None of it looks too
good.
