One problem with the Heimlich Maneuver with wet drowning is that it tends to 
cause vomitosis Life guards typically do surface rescue, and there for 
typically deal with dry drowning. As deep divers, you will typically deal 
with wet drowning. Its the advice of most experts that CPR be began ASAP, and 
then strait to the hospital for at least 3 day do to the hi risk of secondary 
drowning.
