Bruce--I would refer you to the archives, searching under pipe threads or
something like that.  You will find that these threads are a poor design
for SCUBA. (something like a ticking time-bomb, possibly causing undue
stresson the neck, or something like that) By the time you find it, you
will have wasted more time than it is worth.  These tanks will make nice
paperweights, or a good plantter for your wife--just saw them in two, and
plant away.....
