All in all, the DIN way seems to me more secure. The A-clamp is probably good enough for rec-diving, but I generally prefer the (subjective) feeling of that little extra security the DIN connections provide. Then again, I'm German and thus just used to it. Did use A-clamps on holiday though and had no problems either.
