OMS will tell you that theirs are made of a different alloy (ahem), and are
tested differently
(to manipulate the DOT results). The 2640 on OMS tanks and the 2400 on
Fabers and Scubapro's, is, in my ultra-modern military mind, simply the
results (+10% rating) of them (OMS) knowing how to shmooze the bureaucrats
or otherwise get what they want.

Faber also makes Scubapro bottles. Different paint job again.

I dive a set of Faber LP95's. Nice tanks for open ocean diving, a little
buoyant at the end, about 2 lbs + is my best guess, but real slick in the
water. A very nice platform to dive from. 11lb v-weight helps. One of my
buds dives Faber LP85's. We never get in the water with less than 3K in our
bottles. 29 if we got em hot, but generally 3K.

I don't know or care what every one thinks about this, but what I am going
to say is the truth. Like it or not, this *is* what happens in when no one
is looking. I have no knowledge of anyone ever blowing up a Faber/OMS tank
filling them to 3.5. Is it safe? I don't know.
Is it legal? Probably not. Is it common? Very. Am I going to get flamed for
this? I don't care.

OMS tanks get *routinely* filled to 3800 psi. I have been told that in
Europe, these tanks,
Faber/OMS/Scubapro are taken to 4K regularly. Zero explosions. If anyone has
other information, please cite it with refs.

5 dangerous things to hear a Marine say:
1. A Private saying, "I learned this in boot camp..."
2. A Sergeant saying, "Trust me, Sir..."
3. A Second Lieutenant saying, "Based on my experience..."
4. A Captain saying, "I was just thinking..."
5. A Warrant officer chuckling, "Watch this shit..."
