I personally am not an OMS fan. I find their prices to be a tad steep and try to avoid them. On the issue of tanks, you must get have a rig that allows you to stay at 10 feet with 1 psi in your tanks. Depending on a huge number of factors, this could be anything from an AL80 to a set of PST 120's. When we needed big, less negative outboard bottles for the Halcyon rebreather, we looked at OMS125's. PST's were not practical. Other than that, I prefer PST's because I need the weight when wearing a TLS350 with C4 in fresh water with Al backplate. If I did not need the weight, I would find a rig that would do the job, but would hate to buy OMS because once you scratch the paint, they are ruined. Now, it may just be my imagination, but I think the paint on Faber tanks holds up better than OMS. Is it the same paint job? Anybody know? So, I guess I did not answer your question, but no I would not prefer OMS with an Al plate. I use PST with AL backplate. Trout > So, would the best choice be the PST to begin with?
