It's kind of like the Ultra Marathon Cycling Association records. In that
case, you pick two cities that are far enough apart to qualify as "Ultra
Marathon", get an official to follow in their car and ride. The trick is to
pick two cities that nobody has ever done this for. Say Loomis, CA to
Henderson, NV. Voila, you're a world record holder.

I'm currently planning a deep air record in my backyard pool. I've already
done a workup dive to 4 feet, but after studying the bottom contours I think
I can get down to 4' 1" over in the corner of the deep end. Bam! I'm a
world record holder. I mean, have any of the WKPP divers been down that
deep in my pool? I didn't think so. So pick your body of water and call
the Guinness people...

NEW RED SEA OPEN WATER TRIMIX RECORD

We are very pleased to inform you that on the 17th of February 2000, the Red

Sea record was broken at the Blue Hole in Dahab, with a depth of 202.5
metres. The dive was performed without the use of descent or ascent lines
and all required gasses including bail-outs were carried by the diver.
