George, I think you mean "speeds up to 32-35" with average speeds probably
closer to 28 (if the ride is really fast).  Probably the fastest race that I
ever did was the 1996 Olympic Trials points race on the track and we "only"
averaged 50kph (31mph) over 40km.  Max speed 70kph (42mph).  Just imagine
how fast the guys who were actually winning the sprints went!  Try that in
your 53x15 fixed gear...

I was actually hoping to meet Dan when I went to Tallahassee for masters
road nationals in 1998, but he didn't go that year.  I was also hoping to go
to Wakulla Springs just to check it out, but didn't have the time.  I'm sure
that the WKPP could have used some help based on my extensive experience
from 45 dives, some as deep as 70 ft.
