OK Steve, Enough is enough! I for one am tied of your pompous self righteous posturing! Christ, you are so full of so righteous self indignation it is nauseating! Now listen and listen well, people are dying because of poor instruction and the generalised bullshit that is provided as "expert opinon" on these lists. You don't have to like George, and I for one could not care a fuckin' so-called "jot" if you do or do not. He has walked the walk and can talk the talk. In my opinon, unless you can prove otherwise, you can do neither. YOU HEREBY STAND CHALLENGED! Please state your credentials and diving experience forthwith. If you desire to play, prove you are worthy and a state either your academic credentials or your real life diving experience that qualifies you to comment. If you can not, then please SHUT THE F*CK UP. declare yourself a self proclaimed idiot and disengage... With absolutely not an iota of respect until you can prove it... I think your >friend is the close-minded victim. I would agree entirely, which is why I keep "chipping away" at him (and will continue to do so). The reason I mentioned it was because it amply illustrated something that had been mentioned to me just a few weeks ago. Namely that it tends to be forgotten that there's a full a range of personality types and that one of these is a group of people who are happy to go out and "do", will listen to advice, discuss, etc., but when it comes to conflict they actively move away from it. They lose out when it comes to new ideas (as might be available from this list) simply because they choose to avoid conflict... doesn't mean they don't want to learn, just that they don't like their teeth pulled out of their backsides if the make a mistake... Once this personality type had been pointed out to me I immediately recognised the same in half a dozen others... good, active *keen* divers, just non-aggressive that's all. That is the pity of it all... at some time or other, to further involve more and more people (in discussion if nothing else), a different approach is going to be needed because at the moment a lot of folk are lost to these new ideas.
