OK this is making more sense now. So your pinger is on a shot line and should it
somehow break free, the shot is still hanging,then you could follow it as it
drifts? and presumably set up your own upline/markers nearby and now the boat,
the divers and pinger are all somewhat on the same page. that seems reasonable,
especially if you are all scootering.

Intact wrecks are nice, id like to dive more of them, but I cant afford to
travel much. Most of what we have here has been wire dragged, and then depth
charged to smithereens. No reels while swimming is a no brainer, i would think
line and props dont mix.

There was one booth at DEMA that had all the usn spec ops contract stuff, the
sdv,the compass board, the underwater gps/sat nav/keyboard transmitter, and a
pinger/direction finder, that was like 3k per unit and minimum order was a dozen
or something.

Again, if this proves viable,please let us know.
