I'll get the BMD manufacturer for you. If I had a scanner and a website, I could put up the brochures. As far as quietest goes, I'm not sure. Now that you put me on the spot, I didn't notice any diffusers on the other rebreathers at all, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have them. The BMD diffuser is obvious: it's a porous, hard foam tube on the outside of the case, about 3" in diameter and 2' long. It was, however, vulnerable and exposed: one of the two units at the show had a damaged diffuser. The stuff is brittle and there was a chunk missing. Just because the BMD diffuser is large, that doesn't mean it's quietest. After all, we all know that size doesn't really matter. Maybe somebody tried them all out, and will be back after DEMA with more of a report.
