The references to the D400's in the "Best Divers" thread prompted me to dig
out a Scubapro manual. Something in the manual confused me, I wondered if
anyone could clarify?

In the technical specifications under the heading "Air delivery at 200 BAR
(l.min/SCFM)" the following figures are given:

	G500 G250 R190 D400
     1800/64 1600/57 1400/50 800/64

I was always under the impression the D400 was one of the best performing
regs but if the first figure is air delivery in litres/minute, then even
the lowly R190 out strips it. I'm not sure what the second figure is but
guess it's got something to do with inhalation resistance (I guess in this
case the higher the figure the better [shrug], as the latest and greatest
G500 has a similarly high value). Am I way off track with my
interpretation? Is the R190 actually a better performing reg than the D400?

As an asside how does the G500 compare to the G250 (lighter I know, as
servicable, functional)?

Cheers,

P.S. I can see the argument for easy servicability of a reg, above and
below (not so important to me) the water. I'd also add that the D400 is a
bit unconventional in shape and may cause problems if donated to a diver
who is unfamiliar with it.

I've actually got a D400 (bought it 7 or 8 years ago when it was a D300 or
350). I originally bought it because I had used and like one some years
earlier and I was diving in strongish currents and off the shore a lot
(thought the angled purge and dive/predive would suit this kind of diving).
