Well, that idea took about 6 hours to get shot all to hell....

Thanks for all the replies, I hadn't considered the fact that drilling and 
re-tapping the neck would weaken it to the point of a catastrophic 
failure.  My original idea was to put together a set of twin 72's with a 
standard manifold, and I knew of a pair of tanks with the taper threads 
that were going pretty cheap.

Thanks again to everyone who responded.  This list is a wealth of knowledge 
if one can wade through the subtexts...
