This is a potential bomb. Several yrs ago a N Fla dive shop accidently put the wrong valve, (the threads were close but different) on a tank and nearly killed himself when it blew up while filling it. Not to suggest that I know it, but there is a science to thread making for high pressure/ strength applications. The number of threads, their depth and other factors are all considered. Do yourself a favor and buy a new tank. Joe C.
