I was going to commit on this one also chief, but it appears that Dr. Mike will not listen, and I am to busy to aid in attempting to convince him. However, I will say, Mike look at where you get your information and where it has taken you in your diving; and then look at where we get our information and where it has taken us. I would wager that there exist a monumental difference in the two sets of achievements. There seems to be a paradigm shift occurring in the world of cave/technical diving that is being facilitated by the WKPP. In the last few years many people have realized that what we have been saying for years was correct, and have followed suit. Then there is you and those like you (including Alton's friend, bored in NJ), why can you not see what others can? Just because you look does not mean that you will be converted . . . hell, you might even learn something. But then again weren't you the guy that was on here a few days ago promoting 40% in a pony at 140? Why the comment about McGuire again, that was covered. Scott Hunsucker >Thanks Martin. > >Since you are a NOAA-trained physician I respect your comments. >But I'm not so sure the NOAA guidelines are conservative enough. >Peter Bennett alluded to this in his recent editorial on Nitrox >in Alert Diver. Also George has seen fatalities from hyperoxic >mixes (Bobby McGuire breathing 50% O2 at 140ffw). I believe >Hans Petter Roverud's comments about hydrostatic pressure effects >increasing perfusion to the CNS. Maybe 1.6 is way too high, and >the whole scale should be shifted to 1.4 or less. Time will tell. > >Mike -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
