Just so you all know, my eye doctor is marketing a new technique (= developed in Australia) which does not involve surgery. What you do is = wear "shape correction" contacts at night and none during the day. After a few months you can get by with using the shape-correcting contact (= through which you can see normally) just 3 or 4 nights a week. There is no = surgery involved and relatively no risk. I have not tried them myself but am considering it. The cost is about 50% = less than laser. This might be a usable solution for divers or others = involved in sports.
