Hi Scott, I worked as an ICU RN for many years. Occasionally we'd use these "Texas catheters." They've been around for awhile. How do they differ from a P valve? The condom catheters, like the devices from which they're derived, leak at the slightest provocation. (Not to mention what the sticky circumferential band does when it catches the short hairs--an efficient way to rouse a patient from a "light" coma). Eeeeeow!
