Impressive as a feat, like successfully climbing K2 or something, no. I have no problem calling these guys reckless and stupid. No problem at all. Further, it is indisputable that they were lucky -- any of a large number of problems that thankfully didn't take place could easily have killed these macho morons, things that would easily be survived with the proper technique and equipment. Having done a macho moronic dive myself once in the past and thankfully surviving it, I don't feel reluctant at all to label such activity as such. Fortunately, I have garnered considerable sense in the ensuing years regarding such recklessness.
