Hi there Akula, Consider yourself lucky. You've just joined what I consider to be about the best source of information in tech diving. Several people on this list are the best in the world, and have been diving longer than I've been alive! They're ready to help out anyone willing to listen. I've honestly learned more from this list than from all dive instructor recreational or technical that I've had combined. Although lots of these guys are diving much deeper than you, and their average decompression times are probably longer than your 10 longest dive times added together, the principles they use one these ridiculous dives can be applied to the diving you do to make it easier, and safer. It doesn't matter that you're from the UK. There are UK divers on the list that are DIR. If you're smart, you'll read some of the links on DIR diving, and listen to some of the discussions, and ask some questions. You'd be surprised what you can learn hear. steve On Fri, 14 Jan 2000, Akula wrote: > Thanks to all those who replied. > > just a few things. > > I know computers aren't DIR, but I'm not a DIR diver, > I dive in the UK and warm water diving. > > My target config is:- > > Twin 7l steel 232bar iso manifolded with din fittings > apeks tx50's hog rigged. > ss back plate with single peice harness. > 45lb dive rite TREK(AKA junior wing) wing. > trilaminate black drysuit > cc liftbag/dmsb > force fins > TLS 712 delrin torch. > with TLS backup torchs. > Sunto vyper EAN computer. > > Also I know that building my own computer isn't > economically viable and/or acceptedly safe but I want > to do it to learn about deco and electronics. > > AK > > --- S I L E N T I M M E R S I O N <silent@cu*.ne*> > wrote: > > Sounds great! > > > > Welcome! > > > > Best, > > > > THOMAS > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Akula <iopi.geo@ya*.co*> > > To: <techdiver@aquanaut.com> > > Sent: Friday, January 14, 2000 5:32 AM > > Subject: Newbie > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > I just thought I would introduce my self having > > just > > > joined the list. > > > > > > I'm a sports diver from the UK.
