The other "breakthrough" BC to watch out for is the new one from Mares. It has the regulator, "octopus", and gauges in one neat package with an inflation control panel with buttons to control inflation and deflation. The hoses all run inside of the backpack to eliminate any potential snagging or confusion and it even has a molded stop for the tank neck to assure the best dressed stroke of a proper tank height each and every time! Sounds like something everyone should be running out to buy. Folks, Coming to a Dive Store near you real soon now is a BC with _AUTOMATIC_ buoyancy control ... I kid you not. At the German BOOT (their [and Europe's] equivalent of DEMA) Aquapilot DFT will unveil this revolutionary device which will allow all divers to entirely forget about this bothersome problem. Their website (don't bother, its first page only as I write and seriously slow/memory intensive) is at <http://www.aquapilot.de/> and their e-mail is <info@aq*.de*> I'd suggest that not a few of us would be after just such a device and might like to send the odd e-mail? Hmmmmm, just a bit too early for April 1 isn't it? Christian -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
